2nd seminar

The second group were a little less … boisterous, which I can only attribute to the morning timetabling.  Again, some good discussions, particularly in relation to the whole “end of the world” saga.

Now, I know there’s been a fair bit of discussion on campus in the past week - I’ve seen posters advertising some ad-hoc discussion groups from the student union.  GEAS: What Now? That kind of thing.

But, having run the Outlaw Planet video past them, I was pleasantly surprised (and, yes, a little bewildered) by the group’s unrepentant optimism.  Here, the dominant feeling was that the post-GEAS situation contained both challenge and opportunity.  They gave me a couple of links and promising leads which I followed up after the seminar.  A couple of emails later, and I’m waiting to see what the weekend brings…

In other news, I’ll be hitting town tomorrow to grab lunch with some friends from my undergraduate days.  If anyone is going to be in the general vicinity, drop me a message.  The more the merrier!
