Shockwaves
Having left my last post on something of a cliffhanger, I suppose I shouldn’t have been surprised to get an SMS from Luke, making sure I’d made it home okay. I know this platform is public access, but it took a while for me to get what he was talking about, poor chap.
So, yes, I made it home safely. Turns out that yesterday’s unreliable tube coverage was the result of a wave of one-unders. Following the GEAS announcement, the BBC are reporting a spike equivalent to ten times the expected base. So while Mark and I were out partying, a fair few Londoners couldn’t even find a reason to carry on. A sobering thought, that.
Wouldn’t want to be a GEAS employee right now. I mean, surely they could have anticipated the range of likely responses? Who made the decision to go public? And did they run their findings past national governments first?
